Breckenridge has been the most popular ski resort in North America for the past few years! Breckenridge was also named one of the top five ski locations in the world by the BBC in October 2006 and was ranked as the ninth-best resort in the US by SKI Magazine in 2008. Peak 10 is the southernmost part of Breckenridge, servicing mainly difficult and a substantial amount of intermediate terrain. Peak 9 services mostly intermediate terrain, with a significant number of beginners runs on the lower part of the mountain, though it can also access expert runs such as Devil's Crotch and the Windows hike-to terrain that leads down to E-chair on the north side of Peak 9. Peak 8 is accessed from the Colorado SuperChair, Rocky Mountain SuperChair, and the Peak 8 SuperConnect. The lower part of Peak 8 accesses mostly intermediate runs with some advanced runs. The back bowl on Peak 8 can be accessed via 6 chairs or the T-Bar, both can be used to access the Imperial Express lift and the northernmost (Peak 7) and westernmost bowls (Lake Chutes), which include some very difficult terrain with slopes up to 55 degrees. The lower part of Peak 7 can also be accessed from the Independence SuperChair which accesses intermediate terrain.
Breckenridge has a base Elevation of 9,600 feet / 2,926 meters and a summit elevation of 12,998 feet / 3,963 meters. Breckenridge also has a vertical rise: of 3,398 feet / 1,036 meters and has 30 total lifts to service you!
The lifts include 2 high-speed 6-passenger SuperChairs, 7 high-speed quad lifts, 1 triple lift, 6 double lifts, 1 8-passenger gondola (5 minutes from the Chateau), 4 surface lifts, and 9 carpet lifts! With these lifts, the capacity is 37,880 people per hour! So don't worry about standing in line, the town has you covered! There is also a total of 2358 acres / 954 hectares of ski terrain for you to enjoy! Breckenridge grooms 600 acres / 241 hectares (29% of total terrain) daily! For the advanced skiers, there are 772 acres of Bowl and 25 acres of advanced terrain Parks. The longest trail is Four O'clock - 3.5 miles / 5.6 kilometers.
